When it comes to first aid, the kit offers guidance for various scenarios:

Burns: Cool all burns with tepid to cool water, regardless of the degree. Do not apply ice, ointments, butter, or other "home remedies." Cover the affected areas with a clean, dry cloth, towel, or blanket to protect the burn and minimize pain. Seek medical attention if the burn is larger than the victim's hand size or if the victim is a child or elderly person.

Fractures: Immobilize the injured area, apply cold, and treat for shock. Call 911 if the victim is unconscious, doesn't appear to be breathing, has a broken bone in their head, neck, or back, or if the fractured bone has pushed through their skin and they're bleeding heavily.

Bleeding: For severe bleeding, remove any clothing or debris on the wound, but do not remove large or deeply embedded objects. Apply a sterile bandage or clean cloth to the wound, press firmly to control the bleeding, and raise the injured limb above the level of the heart. If the bleeding cannot be controlled, call 911.

Choking: If the person is conscious, perform abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver) until the blockage is dislodged. If the person becomes unconscious, perform standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with chest compressions and rescue breaths.

Resuscitation: If the person is unconscious, perform CPR with chest compressions, following the standard steps.
